Diesel particulate filter problems

A closed-type Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), such as the Dinex DiSiC or DiPEX holds back 99% of the particles and particulate matter from the exhaust gas. Eventually the filter will block up and needs to be regenerated. This is a catalytic reaction the burns the trapped matter and reduces it to soot.

Both filters are offered in a number of configurations with different Regeneration Strategies, to suit different driving patterns. Whether you filter can regenerate depends on whether your operation of the vehicle corresponds to the requirements of the Regeneration Strategy. I.e. a passive regeneration strategy will not be sufficient for inner city driving.
